 The CEO of the accountancy firm I work for has a policy of getting to know the Wives of his employees in order to promote a more 'family friendly' atmosphere.

"I've never met your Wife have I Derek," he said to me after a particularly long meeting. "I would like to take her out tonight and get to know her."

"You want to take my Wife out on a date?" I asked.

"For the good of the firm," he replied with a smile - to which there was no answer I could think of.

Janice thought it was a little unusual but accepted the invitation with some encouragement from me. Later, as she was preparing for her date with my Boss, I said to her, "His name is Ramone by the way."
