in the interests of being civilised

in the interests of being civilised

Should a husband stand in the way when his Wife tells him she's fallen in love with another man. Does he fly into a rage and threaten divorce? Does he cry and whine like a spoilt child? Or does he consider himself to be a civilised man and come to an agreement.

When Emily, my own Wife, gave me the news I had been dreading, I decided that I would be civilised, and ask her to arrange a meeting so we can discuss the way ahead. It was a Tuesday evening when he knocked on my door and Emily let him in.

The conversation we were going to have never materialised and from that night I knew that the civilised approach was wrong. In fact, Emily's reaction to him was so profound that she didn't even look at me as he took her upstairs for the night.

My Wife and her new Lover made many regular trips upstairs over the next few months but I still did not know his name. One afternoon I plucked up the courage to walk into our bedroom and ask, in the interests of being civilised, "What is your Boyfriend's name?". Emily looked up from her Lover and told me everything I needed to know.

"From now on, cuckold," she replied, ....

.... "You must call him Master."
